Bryan Marvin Brantly
BLANCHARD, LA - Services for Bryan Marvin Brantly, 70, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, November 27, 1996 at Rose-Neath's Marshall Street Chapel. Officiating will be Mr. John Strong, pastor of Blanchard Church of Christ and Bro. Jimmy Eppinette. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m., Wednesday in Arlington Cemetery, Homer, La.
Mr. Brantly passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 1996 in Shreveport, La. He was a native of Homer, La. and a resident of Blanchard, La. He was a retired Lab Technician for Universal Oil Products. He was a member of Blanchard Church of Christ and a veteran of the U.S. Navy in World War II. He served as Mayor for the town of Blanchard for one term and served as Alderman for six years. He was a honorary lifetime member of the Blanchard Athletic Club, where he coached baseball for seventeen years from Little League to American Legion, where he touched many lives.
Mr. Brantly is survived by his wife of 47 years, Dee Brantly of Blanchard, La.; sons, Galen Brantly and wife, Mickie of Athens, Tx., Garry Brantly and wife Paula of Blanchard, La. and Tim Brantly and wife Jawan of Blanchard, La.; sisters, Patsy Braselton of Benton, La. and Jane Johnson of Shreveport, La., Sandra Stinson of Ruston, La., and Peggy Fowler of Jonesboro, La.; brothers, James L. Brantly of Delhi, La. and Stanley M. Brantly of Springhill, La.; grandchildren, Chad, Brandee, Lauren, Hunter, Collin and Aubri Brantly.
Pallbearers will be nephews.
Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Hartsell, Jack Miller, Walter Jamar, Bobby Cline and Employees of U.O.P. and his former baseball players.
The family suggests that memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society.
