Obituary for Mary Brantley Turner

SAVANNAH - Mrs. Mary Astrid Brantley Turner, 80, of Savannah, died Tuesday, July 19, 2016 at Landmark Hospital, surrounded by her family and loved ones.

She was born in Metter, Ga., and was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin Kermit Brantley and Essie Ree Carter Brantley, and her brother, Edwin Eddie Brantley.

She was a 1953 Graduate of Metter High School. She retired from Bank of America, having served as Head Teller at the Savannah Mall Branch.

She was a member of Bible Baptist Church, and the Masters Sunday School Class.

She is survived by her husband, Jon Ivan Turner, Sr., Savannah, Ga; daughter, Tina Renee Turner Hodges (Ricky E. White), of Eden, Ga; son, Jon Ivan Turner, Jr., (Marci Suarez) of Pooler, Ga; brother, Marlin Brantley (Chris), Berlin, Wisconsin; step great grandson, Billy Peoples (Trey), of Pooler, Ga.

Visitation: 6-8 p.m. Friday at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel.

Funeral Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at Bible Baptist Church, with Dr. Herbert Hubbard, officiating.

Interment: 2:30 p.m. Saturday, at Alderman Cemetery, in Statesboro, Ga.

Remembrances: Bible Baptist Church. Mrs. Turner will be taken to the church Saturday, at 9:30 a.m. to lie in state. The family would like to thank the kind and compassionate staff of Landmark Hospital, and St. Joseph's Hospital.
