He attended the Westminister Presbyterian Church, Pulaski; and was a retired employee of the Virginia Department of Transportation with 43 years of service. He was preceded in death by his wife, Orlena Marshall Branscome; and a stepson, Carl Edwards. Surviving are his wife, Velva Viola Whitt Branscome of Pulaski; one special granddaughter, Tina Marie Lane of Dugspur; four stepchildren, Carlis Lundy, Brenda Taylor and Betty Hughes, all of Pulaski, and Barbara Campbell of Norfolk; seven step grandchildren and one great granddaughter. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday at Stevens Funeral Chapel, Pulaski, with the Rev. John Hicks officiating. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Stevens Funeral Home, Pulaski. Stevens Funeral Home, Pulaski, is in charge of arrangements.
