BRIDGEPORT — Anna Lucille Brandt, 88, of Bridgeport, went to be with her Lord on Saturday, June 12, 2004, at the Morrill County Community Hospital. Her funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 16, at 2 p.m., at the First Baptist Church in Bridgeport with Pastor Darren Stroh officiating. Interment will be at Oregon Trail Memorial Cemetery.She was born May 1, 1916, to Ozro and Irene (Barry) Cox, in Maywood, the youngest of eight children. She married Charles Edward Brandt in Eads, Colo., in 1933. They made their home in Curtis, operating the City Cafe, Horse Shoe Inn and Charlie's Place. She worked as a cook and waitress, while raising their five children, Lenore, Marlene, Carol Ann, Douglas and Ed. She also cooked at Heritage of Bridgeport and the Senior Center in Bridgeport and worked as a clerk at the dime store. She worked until her husband retired, then spent time traveling, camping and fishing. The couple really enjoyed their time together and their family time.
She was a very loving, caring mother and friend. She was a hard worker, wonderful cook and always ready to have fun and enjoy her family. She thought of her Pastor Stroh as a great friend and enjoyed all the times she spent with him.
She will always be loved and will be missed by all.
She is survived by her children, Lenore (Bill) Hutchinson of Gering; Marlene (Gene) Hazen of Globe, Ariz.; Carol Ann (Leon) Warren of Muleshoe, Texas; and Douglas D. (Nancy) Brandt of Bayard; 13 grandchildren, Richard L. Williams, David W. Williams, Steven A. Williams, Linda Oddonetto, Sheri Nieves, Scott Ellard, Colleen Muhr, Michele Deaver, Amy Nichols, Holly Brandt, Troy Brandt and Jason Brandt; 19 great-grandchildren and two great-great- grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Kathy Brandt of Bridgeport; and sisters, Ethel McGuire of Alliance and Lydia Mae Hamilton of Kimball.
Her parents; husband, Charlie; son, Ed; four brothers; one sister; one granddaughter and two great-granddaughters preceded her in death.
