LaVera Bramstedt, 92, of Elkhart Lake, passed away Saturday, October 09, 2010 at Cedar Bay Assisted Living.
LaVera was born December 8, 1917 in Plymouth to the late Carl and Augusta (Arndt) Hammerschmidt.
She married Roman Bramstedt on June 5, 1937 in the Town of Sheboygan Falls.
The couple lived in the Town of Mosel for eight years and in 1947 moved to the Bramstedt homestead and farm which they operated until 1976. The couple moved to Howards Grove in 1979 and LaVera moved to Cedar Bay in August of 2009. Roman preceded her in death in 1992.
LaVera was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Howards Grove, where she was a member of the Ladies Aid, a Sunday school teacher and made quilts for Lutheran World Relief.
Survivors include one son, Ronald (Joann) Bramstedt, Town of Russell; one daughter, Marlene (Robert) Ruh, Elkhart Lake; eight grandchildren, Bradley (Connie) Ruh, Cheryl (Marty) Van Ells, Keith (Angela) Ruh, Kevin (Denice) Ruh, Sharla (Jesse) Parker, Vicki (Jon) De Ruyter, Tim (Virginia) Bramstedt and Tanya (Jared) Zander; fifteen great-grandchildren; three step great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She is further survived by nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one grandchild, one great-grandchild, two brothers and three sisters.
A funeral service for LaVera will be held on Tuesday, October 12, 2010 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Howards Grove, W2776 Hwy 32 with the Rev. Darrel Bergelin officiating.
