Clarence "Everett" Bradley, 81 years of age, the husband of Nancy Smith Bradley of Brodhead, Kentucky departed this life on January 25, 2006 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Kentucky, the result of heart disease and kidney failure.
He was born on October 24, 1924 in Indianapolis, Indiana, a son of the late Bennie F. and Nancy "Nanny" Denney Bradley. He had been a 20 year maintenance employee of the Rockcastle School System and maintenance employee of the Sowder Nursing Home and had been self employed for 27 years at Bradley's Service Station in Brodhead, Kentucky. He was a member of the Brodhead Baptist Church, American Legion, Brodhead Lions Club, Rockcastle Bass Club, a Kentucky Colonel, and had held the positions of Rockcastle Co Deputy Coroner and Brodhead Fire Chief. His hobbies and interests included coon hunting, woodworking and fishing. On October 22, 1943 he was united in holy matrimony to Nancy Catherine Smith, and from that union came three children-Ronnie, Cathy and Jane.
He proudly served his country during World War II as a gunner on the aircraft carrier San Jacinto in the Pacific Theater. His fleet survived many battles and two typhoons.
Those left to mourn his passing included his wife of 62 years, Nancy Smith Bradley of Brodhead, Kentucky; three children, Ronnie(Brenda) Bradley , Cathy(Denton) Owens, and Jane(Michael) McClure all of Brodhead, KY; six grandchildren, Chris, Ron, Micah, Andrea, Kyle and Anna. One great grandchild, Danielle.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Curtis Bradley and Thurnie Bradley; three sisters, Hazel Thompson, Gladys Mullins, and Goldie Shivel.
Funeral Services were conducted on Saturday, January 28, 2006. Burial followed in the Piney Grove Cemetery in Brodhead, Rockcastle Co, Kentucky. Military rights at the cemetery by the American Legion.
