Mildred Bradley Reed, 84, of 102 Crescent St., Martinsville, died Saturday, April 30, 2005, at Blue Ridge Rehab Center.
She was born Sept. 23, 1920, in Franklin County to James Otis Bradley and Berta Whitlow Bradley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Mae Young, Bertha Young and Viola McGuire; and two brothers, J.D. Bradley and Virgil Bradley.
She retired from Bassett-Walker and volunteered for the American Red Cross. She was a lifelong member of McCabe Memorial Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Raymond D. Reed of the home; two sons, Leon Reed and Noel Reed, both of Martinsville; a sister, Ninner Barns of Martinsville; and two grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Norris Funeral Services chapel with the Rev. Lewis Harris and Dr. Phillip Duckett officiating. Burial will be in Roselawn Burial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:30-9 p.m. today at the funeral home and other times at the home.
