Waunita Bradley Reid, passed away August 31, 2017 at her home. She was born on January 12, 1931 to the late Walter and Ruby Bradley. She was a life-long resident of Nicholas County. Waunita was a graduate of Nicholas County High School at Headquarters and Morehead State University where she earned her Teaching certificate and her fifth year certificate. She was the first Nicholas County Blackberry Queen. She was a teacher for twenty-two years in Nicholas County. She had two special friends that she taught with, Jerlyn and Sharon who always made her laugh. Waunita loved to read ,crochet and enjoy times with her family. She loved collecting various plants and enjoyed adopting cats. She was a gentle and kind woman who loved to travel and keeping scrapbooks and photo albums of her adventures and people she loved. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband James E. Reid and a sister, Margie Wilson. Graveside services will be held 1 pm. Tuesday September 5, 2017 at the Carlisle Cemetery Chapel with Rev. Steve Smith officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions suggested to Hospice of the Bluegrass 1317 U.S. Highway 62 E Cynthiana, Ky 41031 or Moorefield Christian Church. Carlisle-Clark Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
