BAKER Barbara J. Barbara J. Baker, 50, of Long Beach, Oak Harbor, OH, died Saturday, February 2, 2008, at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo, OH. She was born on November 18, 1957, a daughter of William and Emma Jean (Huston) Bradfield. An active member of the Oak Harbor United Brethren Church, Barb was a teacher of Christ's Cubbies and assisted with accounting at the church as a member of the finance commission. She greatly enjoyed bowling with her sons and was a member of the Boger Quality Builders team on the Ladies League. Barb was actively involved in her son's lives, and enthusiastically followed their sporting events. She loved to cook and had many 'secret' recipes. Barb also enjoyed photography, and raising Great Danes. She especially loved to read, which made her a perfect fit for her job as clerk at the Oak Harbor Public Library, where she worked many years. She and her husband also formerly owned and operated Frank's Korner, near Oak Harbor, for several years. On May 5, 1977, she married Mark E. Baker Sr., and he survives. Also surviving are her sons, Mark Baker Jr., and his fiancé, Christa Wheeler, of Columbus, OH, Gregory T. Baker and his wife, April, of Jacksonville, FL, where he is serving in the U.S. Navy, and Jesse Baker, of Oak Harbor; her sister, and friend, Cathy (Dan) Miller, Luckey, OH; sisters, Rita Bradfield, Fort Worth, TX and Debbie Bradfield, Toledo, OH, and brothers, William (Kelly) Bradfield, Maumee, OH and Terry Bradfield, Toledo, OH. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews, and a grand-niece. Barb and Mark are also expecting their first grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at the Crosser Funeral Home, Oak Harbor, where the family will be present from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Pastor Steve Fish officiating. Interment will be in Rusha Cemetery, Carroll Township. A luncheon for family and friends will be served at the Oak Harbor United Brethren Church following the interment service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Oak Harbor United Brethren Church or the Oak Harbor Public Library. Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.crosserfuneralhome.com
