God took home his angel, Mrs. Beulah "Boots" Boyles Slawter Boles, 78, of King on Monday evening, Jan. 10, 2005, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem. She was known by everyone who knew her as "Boots." Mrs. Boles was born July 18, 1926, to the late Curner B. Boyles and Zenobia Simmons Boyles. Boots was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Mrs. Boles was retired from Baldwin's Department Store in King and was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Terry Shouse and Jana and Junior Hensley, all of King; two granddaughters, Kim and Steve Salmon and Marty and David McKinney, all of King; a grandson, Josh Hensley of King; six great-grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Georgia "Shortie" and Rupert Hall of King; a half brother, Ira Boyles of Stanley; two brothers-in-law, T.A. Bennett and Bill Wall, both of Stanleyville; a sister-in-law, Mazie Chandler of Trinity; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends, all of whom gave her great joy. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Boles was preceded in death by her husbands, O.J. Slawter and R.W. Boles Jr.; four sisters; two brothers; and a brother-in-law.
