Alta A. Boyington

MADISON - Alta A. Boyington, 86, died Sunday in a Madison nursing home.

She was born June 21, 1906 in Madison, daughter of Elijah and Lucie (Higgins) Quimby. She married Frank R. Boyington, Feb. 29, 1924 in Madison. He died in 1988.

She made her home in New Haven and Naugatuck, Conn., for many years, returning to Madison in 1984.

Survivors include four sons, Weldon of Clinton, Conn., Mahlon of Vero Beach, Fla., Raymond of San Francisco, Calif.; and Richard of Vero Beach, Fla.; four daughters, Virginia Adams of Meriden, Conn., Vivian Berry of Embden, Mildred Viele of Madison and Elizabeth LaPointe of Branford, Conn.; one brother, Harvey Quimby of Anson; two sisters, Eda Huggins of Madison and Doris Hull of New Haven, Conn.; 22 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Edwards Funeral Home, 165 Main St., Madison. Burial is scheduled for this spring in Embden.
