Osa E. Garrett was born July 29, 1919, to Owen and Ora Boyer in Hartville, MO. She died on May 26, 2001, at Ozark Riverview Manner, at the age 81 years and 9 months. Osa worked for 10 years at the Lee Wald Garment Factory in Kansas City, MO, and retired after 26 years with the Kansas City School system, where she worked as cafeteria manager. A son, William Eugene, a brother, Ova Lee Boyer, and her parents preceded her in death. She is survived by her son, Tim Garrett and his wife, Pam, and her grandchildren, Josh and Katy Garrett, all of Ozark, and her sister, Ollie Branstetter, of Springfield, three nieces and many grandnieces and grandnephews. Osa became a Christian at a young age, and in 1960, she joined the Methodist Church, at the time of her death, she was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Springfield, MO. Osa wanted her epitaph to read 'Live each day to the fullest,' because that is how she lived. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 29, at Greenlawn Funeral Home South, Springfield. Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Little Creek Cemetery at Hartville, MO. Friends may call after noon today in the funeral home where no formal visitation is planned.
