GRANVILLE - Charles E. Boyden, Sr., 58, of 371 Granville Rd., Granville, died at 9:50 a.m. Saturday, March 8, 2003, at James E. Vanzandt VA Medical Center, Altoona.
Born June 17, 1944, in Cleveland, OH, he was a son of the late James and Margaret (Meath) Boyden. His wife, Jacqueline (Foltz) Boyden, survives.
Also surviving are: three children, Leslie (Boyden) Cruey, Middleburg, Chris Boyden, and Charles E. "Chip" Boyden, Jr., both of Granville; a brother, Bruce Boyden, and a sister, Brenda Zeigler, both of Cleveland, OH; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
He was a former prison guard at Huntingdon.
He was a Vietnam Veteran, serving eight years in the U.S. Navy and twelve years in the U.S. Army.
He attended Granville United Methodist Church. He was a member of Lewistown Lodge #203 F&AM, Harrisburg Consistory, Lewistown Moose Lodge #143, and American Legion Post #90, Lewistown.
He loved his family gatherings, hunting and fishing.
His funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, Inc., 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with Rev. Mark S. Brower officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park. Military graveside rites will be by Lewistown VFW Post 7011.
Friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
