Death of Mr. James Boyd

Mr. James Boyd died at noon to-day after a long illness from cancer. He was an old resident of Douglas county and in West Omaha for some thirteen years, and as a prominent democrat. He was born in New York about sixty years ago and took an active part in state politics for years. He followed the calling of a florist after coming to this county. Mr. Boyd was unmarried and has made his home with his brother-in-law, Mr. Charles J. Ryan. His death will be lamented with a regret that is moderated only by the comforting thought that his suffering is over.

March 18, 1886 p. 1, col. 4

The funeral of James Boyd will take place from the Holy Family church, North Omaha, at 9 o'clock Friday morning, instead of St. Philomena's cathedral, as previously announced.
