Civil War veteran. George Boyd was mustered into the service as a private, Co H 166 Pa Inf on November 12, 1862 at York, Pa. He was mustered out on July 28, 1863. He was 43 years old at the time of this enlistment.
Boyd was later mustered into service as a private, Co E 9 Pa Cav on August 13, 1864 at Harrisburg, Pa. He was discharged by general order on May 29, 1865. He was 44 years old at the time of this second enlistment. He stood 5 feet 4 inches tall, had brown hair, light complexion and blue yes. He was born in Lancaster County, Pa. His residence was listed as Harrisburg, Pa and his occupation was that of laborer.
