Monticello Man Dies At Square Dance Saturday

Funeral services will be held at the Monticello Baptist Church at 1:30 Monday afternoon for Rembert L. Boyd, well known Monticello citizen who died suddenly Saturday night while attending a "square dance" in the gymnasium of the Monticello High School.
Boyd was an outstanding square dancer and slumped to the floor with a heart attack after leaving the dance floor. Boyd was about 60 years old.
Rev. D. O. Horn, Pastor of the Monticello Baptist Church, will officiate at the funeral services. Burial will be at Columbia.
Boyd was for many years a resident of Oakvale. He came to Monticello about three years ago and has made his home here since then. When he was married to Mrs. Irene Ready Lawrence.
Mrs. Boyd is deputy chancery clerk.
Boyd had operated a filling station and grocery store since moving to Monticello.
He was a member of the Monticello Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife and three step-sons, Bobby, Carl and Kenneth Lawrence, all of Monticello.
