Eddy Gert Boyce, 87, of Meadville, died Monday, May 3, 2010, at her residence following a period of declining health.
She was born in Frenchtown, Feb. 21, 1923, a daughter of the late Herman L. and Mary S. Briteler Kircher. She married Arthur R. Boyce on Nov. 23, 1943.
She was a graduate of Randolph High School and had been employed at American Viscose, Keystone Ordnance Works and Montgomery Wards.
She attended First Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing and assisting her husband with remodeling and repairing houses.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, Arthur, of 66 years, include three sons, Brian Boyce and his friend, Guanna Vash, of Meadville, Robert B. Boyce and his wife, Patricia, of The Villages, Fla., and William Boyce and his wife, Jo, of Mukilteo, Wash.; two daughters, Barbara Szopa and her husband, Richard, of Houston, Texas, and Beverly Ann Bacchus and her husband, David, of Saudi Arabia; a sister, Betty Walton of Midland, Mich.; five grandchildren; a great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five sisters, Roseann Smith, Josephine Adams, Dorothy Shall, Mathilda Fitzgerald and Florence Kinsman; and three brothers, Karl, Frank and Leroy Kircher.
Calling hours will be Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.
The funeral and committal service will be Monday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home, with the Rev. Gerald Walton, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiating.
Interment will be in St. Brigid Cemetery.
