Parrot was the second child of Asa G. Jones and Mary Jane Youngblood. She had at least 6 known children by 3 different men. Her first child, Sarah Elizabeth Jones, was born of her first relationship. Parrot's second relationship was with Henry Daniel "Bog" Bowman. After being his common-law wife for 5 (or more) years, she married him. Three known children were born to them: Kye, Marie, and Charlie. After Bog died, Parrot married his brother, Jeptha Gibson Bowman. One daughter (still living as of 2021) was born of this union.

On the 1910 census, it is stated that Nancy Jones, allegedly widowed, was the mother of 3 with 2 alive. It is not know if the missing child was by her first relationship or with Bog Bowman.

As for her birth, her brother was born in August of 1879, so it would be impossible that she was born in March of the same year. She does NOT appear on the 1880 census. The 1900 gives her birth as Mar 1882. I, Cheri, believe someone told the tombstone maker the wrong year.
