Juanita "Nanny" (Bowles) East, age 82, passed away Saturday, November 19, 2016 in Springdale at her home.
She was born January 23, 1934 on White Rock Mountain in Crawford County, Arkansas to Charlie and Annie (Wilson) Bowles.
She lived in Springdale for more than 40 years and enjoyed creating art in all forms, and gardening.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James East; her first husband, Leonard Harvey; an infant brother, William Bowles; brothers, Idaus Bowles, and Morriss Bowles; and sisters, Beulah Fay Hopper, and Frankie Baker.
Nanny is survived by her sons, David Harvey (Judy), Doil Harvey (Lorie), and Russell East; daughters, Reba Hamilton (Jimmy), Carol Harvey Davis (Kevin), Carmel Harvey,Brenda East Mabry (Doug), and Shirley East; 19 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews, as well as friends.
Visitation will be from 10:00-11:00 a.m., Friday, November 25, 2016 with service to follow in Rollins Funeral Home Chapel.
The burial will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 25, 2016 in Bidville Cemetery, Crawford County, East of Winslow.
