Mrs. R.T. Tillery, Another Pioneer Lifsey Springs Citizen, Died March 22
Just as the sun again to cast its raise over our earth, Mrs. Martha Ann Bowen Tillery quietly passed away, March 22nd. Surely there could not have been a more beautiful time for such a splendid Christian character to go. She was seventy-six years old. Miss Martha Ann had been a member of Beulah Baptist Church for sixty-five years and she truly lived a life befitting a Christian. As a companion she was gentle and pure. As a mother, for she was though she had no children of her own, she was loving and kind. As friend she was true.
She is survived by her husband, one foster son, two step-sons and one step-daughter; one sister, Mrs. John Wright, Zebulon; one brother, Mr. George Bowen, Hapeville.
She was laid to rest in Beulah graveyard, March 23 with Revs. John Taylor and J.T. Culpepper conducting the funeral.
May He who knew sorrow and was acquainted with grief, whisper peace to every heart bowed beneath the stroke of this sad affliction is my prayer. – A Friend.
