Betty Lee Bowen, age 86, of Winchester, Virginia, died Sunday, June 30, 2013, at her residence.
Mrs. Bowen was born in 1926, in Winchester, Virginia, the daughter of the late Harry and Dovie Ritter. She was a graduate of Stephens City High School. She had been employed as a real estate agent for Remax, retiring in 2009. She attended First Baptist Church in Winchester.
Surviving are her children, Fred E. Unger, Jr. and wife, Bonnie Gail, and Kevin L. Unger and wife, Jan, all of Winchester, Virginia; two grandchildren, Fred E. Unger, III and Lisa Lynn Unger; three great grandchildren, Fred E. Unger, IV, Brett Unger, and Nathaniel Montagna; one brother, Orin Ritter of Winchester, Virginia; and her dear friend and caretaker, Ruby Dokes.
The family of Mrs. Bowen will receive friends from 12:00 – 1:00 PM, Wednesday, July 3, 2013, at Omps Funeral Home, South Chapel.
A funeral service will be at 1:00 PM Wednesday at Omps, South Chapel with Reverend Pete Wadsworth officiating. Interment will be in Shenandoah Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 West Cork St., Suite 405, Winchester, VA 22601.
