She was born in Washington, N.C., and had previously worked for Virginia Cleaners as a secretary. She had more recently retired from Southwestern Life Insurance Co. She was married to the late Henry D. Green and had been a charter member of Avalon Church of Christ in Virginia Beach, and was also a member of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by one sister-in-law, Lucy Bowen Byrd of Warrenton, Va.; and one niece, Ruth Irene Rider also of Warrenton, Va.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Avalon Church of Christ by the Rev. James A. Bennett. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Park, Norfolk. Francis A. Gay Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel, is handling the arrangements. The family will be at the funeral home today from 7 to 8 p.m.
