Ruby Louise Bowen Tuten, 89, of Waycross died Tuesday night (Nov. 23, 2010) at Baptist Village after an extended illness. She was born in Pierce County to the late Judge Eldon L. Bowen and Rebecca James Bowen. Mrs. Tuten lived most of her life in Ware County where she worked for P.N. Harley and Sears for several years and worked most of her life at Waycross Battery and Electric alongside of her husband. She was a longtime member of the Trinity United Methodist Church and the Mary Martha Sunday School Class. Her hobbies over the years included cooking for family, especially baking pies, sewing, bowling, tending her flower garden where she always had Amarillo's and Christmas Cactus' growing and she enjoyed fishing.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three sisters, Ethel Tuten, Irene Mock and Adeline Greene; three brothers, Razz Bowen, James Bowen and John Bowen.

Survivors include one son, Jimmy Tuten and his wife Margaret, Blackshear, one daughter, Jeanene Zachry and her husband Mike, Blackshear; four grandchildren, Jenifer Raulerson and her husband Lanier, Douglas, Stephen Tuten and his wife Paula, Blackshear, Kim Zachry, Blackshear and Michael Zachry and his wife Jamie, Waycross; seven great grandchildren, Rebecca Raulerson, Daniel Raulerson, Matthew Tuten, Madison Tuten, Mason Tuten, Maybre Zachry and Hagen Zachry; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 PM at Trinity United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 1 – 2 at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, Building Fund, 1005 Church Street, Waycross, GA 31501.
