Allan Gordon Bowdoin, age 84, a native of Chalkville, AL, a former resident of Houston, TX and a current resident of Fairhope, passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2009.
Mr. Bowdoin was a veteran of the United Stated Air Force and served in the South Pacific during WWII. He retired from Service Corporation Incorporated, Houston, TX. After retiring to Fairhope he began working at Thomas Hospital and then became an Associate Member of the Auxiliary. Golfing at Quail Creek and fishing at the Fairhope Pier were his passions during his retirement years.
He is survived by his: Wife of 52 years, Betty Jane Bowdoin of Fairhope, AL; Son, Robert Allan Bowdoin of Houston, TX; Sister, Mary Ann Storey and her husband Carl of Birmingham, AL; Nephews, Michael R. Bowdoin and his wife Rita, Phillip Storey and his wife Sherry, both of AL; Nieces, Rosemary Brown and her husband Robin of MO, Carol Ann Anderson of AL; many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends at Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Monday, November 23, 2009, from 5:00pm until 7:00pm. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Tuesday, November 24, 2009, at 10:00am. Graveside services and interment will be held in Jefferson Memorial Park, Trussville, AL, Wednesday, November 26, 2009, at 2:00pm.
