Mrs. Ella Mae Bowditch Waters, 96 passed away on Friday, August 30, 2014. Born July 21, 1918 in Burnsville she was a daughter of the late Mr. Alfred Bowditch and Mrs. Flora Bowditch Anderson. She was educated in the Yancy County Public School System and later moved to Asheville where she was employed and retired from the Plateau Building as the Maintenance Superintendent. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Waters was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Thomas Waters, Jr. and a daughter, Ms. Gladys Brown.
Surviving are three daughters all of Asheville; seven grandchildren. twelve great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren along with a host of other family members and friends.
Services will be held Saturday, 2 p.m. at Sycamore Temple COGIC with Superintendent Samuel L. Payne, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Lewis Memorial Park.
