Dec. 14, 1927 - Dec. 30, 2014 Rev. B G Bowden – age 87 went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on December 30, 2014. He was loved and will be missed by many. Bro. Bowden served as pastor for over 60 years including 10 years at Shelton Beach Road Baptist Church in Saraland, AL. He is preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Bertha Bowden; one sister, Elaine Alexander; one brother Staff Sergeant Robert Marion and son-in-law Mike Cozart. Bro. Bowden is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 70 wonderful years, Nancy Ragsdill Bowden; five children, one brother. Twenty three grandchildren and twenty three great grandchildren along with many other family members and friends . Funeral service will be on Friday, January 2, 2015 at 12:00 noon with a visitation from 10:30 am until service time at Wilson Ave. Baptist Church. Interment will be in Bogata Cemetery in Bogata, TX. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to the Wilson Ave. Baptist Church Rolling Hills Youth Camp fund, 125 Wilson Ave. Saraland, AL 36571 Arrangements by: Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 9700 Celeste Road, Saraland, Al.
