Dennis Arthur Boutto, 71, Virginia, formerly of Cook, passed away on Thursday, October 25, 2012, at Edgewood Vista in Virginia, with his family by his side.

Dennis was born on January 23, 1941 in Ely, the son of Arthur and Lorraine (Marsyla) Boutto. His earlier years were spent in Chisholm and Cook. He graduated from Cook High School in 1959, then furthered his education at the Dunwoody Institute where he completed the course of study in instrumentation. He was united in marriage to Sharon Ann Altobelli on August 20, 1960. They moved to Minneapolis, where he was a computer analyst for Honeywell. They returned to northern Minnesota, residing in Britt for many years. Dennis was a talented computer analyst and process control coordinator and a valued employee with U.S. Steel of Mt. Iron, the Eveleth Mines and Boise Cascade in International Falls, retiring in 2002. He was a member of the Instrument Society of America, and Past President of the Lake Superior Section. Dennis had a passion for fishing, especially walleyes, and enjoyed spending time on Lake Vermilion, as well as lakes in Canada. He had an appreciation for music, and was especially fond of country and bluegrass, and even dabbled in playing guitar. He enjoyed the annual family tradition of hunting and getting together at the family's hunting shack. He was genuine in his compassion for others, and was truly helpful when their was a need. He will always be remembered for being a devoted husband, dad, grandpa and friend.

His parents precede him in death.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday ( Oct. 29th) at the Mlaker Funeral Home in Cook, with a gathering of family and friends one hour prior to the service. Pastor Joey "pj" Bailey will be the officiant. Burial will take place at a later date at the Cook Community Cemetery.

A reception in Dennis' honor will follow the service at the Cook VFW.
