Elmer "Pete" Lamar Botset, 84, of Knoxville, Tennessee, formerly of Bremen, passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2008 at the Hillcrest Healthcare West in Knoxville, Tennessee. He was born on November 21, 1924 in Bremen, Indiana to Ersy & Iola (Schneider) Botset. He married Betty Jane Erven on April 3, 1948. She preceded him in death on March 7, 2002. A lifetime area resident, Elmer graduated from Bremen High School, retired from SKF in Bremen and Bremen Public Schools. He was a volunteer of the Civil Air Patrol of the Office of Civilian Defense and Served the War Effort as a Soldier of Production during World War II, in the employ of The Studebaker Corporation.
Survivors include 3 Daughters: Vicki (Daniel) Abata of DeForest, WI, Connie (George) Jansen of Cincinnati, OH, Kathy (Steve) Schwepler of Knoxville, TN, 5 Grandchildren: BJ, Angela Jansen and Anna Jansen Baeker, Michael & Tony Abata, 1 Great-Grandchild: Emma Rose Baecker, and 1 Brother: Elmore Botset of Mishawaka. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jane Erven Botset and Margaret Botset Ervin.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 1, 2008 at the Mishler Funeral Home, Bremen. Burial will take place at the Bremen Cemetery.

Friends may call from 9 AM until time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Bremen Community Hospital (for a lifetime of service to him and his family).
