Thank you for posting this memorial for Nancy Ellen. May I suggest her birthday is 4 Jun 1844 in Randolph County, Indiana. She also died in Randolph County, Indiana. Her father is Peter Botkin #11675321 and her mother is Elizabeth Adamson Botkin #11675320.

----------------------------------------------------

FindaGrave Contributor Jayne Beers asked, "On the tombstone she is listed as Botkin. Was she married to a Stevenson and it not engraved on the tombstone? If not married, there is already a listing for her with the last name of Botkin."

My answer: Hi, Jayne. Good to hear from you. In the paper records that were handed down to me from past cemetery trustees, she is listed as Nancy Stevenson d/o Pete & Elizabeth Botkin, w/o Joshua Ward Stevenson. I don't know the origin of my paper records. I entered the graves here from my paper records. There are often discrepancies between my paper records and the stones. When other contributors point out discrepancies, I try to make note of it in the bio. Someone at Rootsweb has further information on this individual that seems to confirm the notations in my paper records (http://worldconnect.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&db=terrypr&id=I3760). I'm not sure why the family chose to leave Stevenson off the stone - perhaps because the marriage was brief and they assumed Joshua would remarry and be buried with a different wife??? I can't find another memorial for Nancy Botkin in the memorials I entered. Was the other listing created by someone other than me? I entered all of my graves for this cemetery using the bulk entry spreadsheet. I realize that means there are some duplicates because others had already entered a few of the burials, but I wanted to have editing privileges on all of my graves, so I've left the ones that are duplicates.
