MODOC--Idris Marie Cox Botkin, 88, of 4474 W. County Road 850-S, died Monday at home after a short illness.
She was born June 30, 1915, in Randolph County, and was the daughter of the late Raymond and Mabel Sterling Cox. Mrs. Botkin was a 1933 graduate of Huntsville High School and was a member of Huntsville united Methodist Church, where she was church organist for over 70 years.
Mrs. Botkin taught organ and piano for several years, and was retired from Peoples Loan and Trust of Winchester.
Survivors are her husband, William Botkin, to whom she was married 67 years; her children, Jerry Botkin (wife-Sharon), Crown Point, Ind.m, Nancy Hernly (husband-Vernon), Sebring, Fla., Mary Ann Lenkensdofer (husband-David), Union City; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a sister, Nina Lahey, Jacksonville, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Vera Gard; and a brother, John Cox.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 19, 2003, in the Thomas Funeral Home, 108 E. Sherman St., Lynn, with Rev. DAvid Mantor officiating. Burial will be in Huntsville Cemetery.
The family will receive callers from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
