Alan Shane Booker, 24, died Saturday, Oct. 4, 2008 in Bay Minette.
He was born Dec. 14, 1983 in Spanish Fort. He was a resident of Daphne and a 2002 graduate of Fairhope High School; was employed with the Shoulders, a drug and alcohol rehab center in Daphne where he was a counselor; also worked part-time at Ruby Tuesday and Dollar General; and was a youth minister with Family Ministries at Fairhope, prior to becoming a member at Healing Waters, a non-denominational church in Bay Minette, working with youth and music.
He was preceded in death by grandparents, Marvin and Linnie Booker of Chickasaw; and great-grandparents, Elizabeth Mayo and Jimmy and Evie Byrd.
Survivors include his mother, Tammy E. Booker of Robertsdale; his father, Marvin Doyle Booker of Chickasaw; a twin sister, Falon Alane (Jason) Dyas of Bay Minette; brother, Kenneth Doyle (Tina) Booker of Fairhope; grandparents, Horace and Doris Wiggins of Bay Dinette; great-grandfather, William V. Mayo; two nephews, Marq "Omar" Booker and Zack Booker; niece, Alyssa Booker; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Oct. 9 at the Healing Waters Church with the Rev. Richard Daniels, the Rev. Wendell Rowan and the Rev. Todd Erskine officiating. Burial followed at Memory Gardens of Fairhope.
Pallbearers were Sheldon Haarigel, Chris Thomas, Scott Zirolott, Gary Doctery, John Lazzari and Brandon Chapman. Honorary pallbearers were Matt Daniels and Evan Carter.
Arrangements were made by Petty Funeral Homes, LLC, Atmore.
