She was born in Lee County, Va., to the late Henry and Ollie Mae Roberts Pannell. She moved to Bluff City when she was 18. Mrs. Booker was a member of Piney Flats Baptist Church and a retired employee of Shoney's Restaurant.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her second husband, Roy H. Booker; first husband, James Nelson, the father of her daughter; one sister, Lillie Mae Pannell; and three brothers, Tommy Pannell, George Everett Pannell and wife Dorothy and J.D. Pannell.
Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Nelson, Bristol Tennessee; two sons, Chris Booker and William Booker, both of Bluff City; a granddaughter and spouse, Elizabeth Roberts and Kenneth Roberts Jr., Bluff City; two grandsons, Austin Dugger and Dustin Dugger, Bristol Tennessee; one great-grandson, Jason Roberts, Bluff City; one special great-granddaughter, Ali Roberts, Bluff City, two special nieces, Linda Pannell, Bluff City, and Teresa Moore, Newport, Tenn.; and a special family friend, Carlos Gregg, Piney Flats. Other nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service for Mrs. Booker will be conducted at 3 p.m., Sunday, April 13, 2008, at Tetrick Funeral Home, Bluff City Chapel, with the Rev. Michael Patterson officiating. Interment will follow in Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Blountville, Tenn. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3 p.m. prior to the service in the chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home and at other times at the residence.
Active pallbearers will be Doug Patterson, Mike Dugger, Carlos Gregg, Ricky Morton, Chris Stewart and Kenneth Roberts. Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Roberts, Austin Dugger, Dustin Dugger and Dillon Gregg.
