Born June 5, 1891, in Spruce Creek, Huntingdon County, he was the son of John and Effie (Chilcote) Bonsell.
He was united in marriage with Ruth C. Prindle on Aug. 12, 1912, in Huntingdon. She preceded him in death Aug. 21, 1968.
Surviving are a daughter, Phyllis Schonefeld of Arlington, Va., and a son, William R. Bonsell of Mormond Beach, Fla. There are seven grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Mrs. Alberta Dannello, and a son Kenneth preceded him in death.
Also surviving are three brothers and two sisters: Norman Bonsell of New Cumberland, Gerald Bonsell of Spruce Creek, and Joseph Bonsell of Tyrone; and Mrs. Muriel Hildebrand and Mrs. Dorothy Beauford, both of York.
Three brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.
Mr. Bonsell was a member of the Fifteenth Street United Methodist Church, Huntingdon. He retired in 1956 as a machinist for the Pennsylvania Railroad after 50 years of service. He was a life member of the No. 2 fire company, Huntingdon.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Sept. 8, at 2 p.m. in the Robert E. Peters Funeral Home, Huntingdon, with the Rev. Samuel Mohansing officiating.
Interment will be in the Riverview Cemetery, Huntingdon.
Friends will be received at the funeral home Sunday, Sept. 7, from 7 to 9 p.m., and Monday from 9 a.m. until the hour of services.
