His wife, Victorie Shoults, the daughter of Joseph and Constance Shoults was born 16 September 1832 in St. Louis, MO and died 15 April 1878 in Carondelet, St. Louis, MO.

Charles Joseph Bonneville married Jennie Berwanger about 1882 in St. Louis, MO. They had seven children: Aurelia born June 1883, Lillian who married George Clark was born on 9 April 1885 and died 3 January 1924; Cora born September 1887, Julia born June 1888, Irene born 1895 and married an Owens and Joseph Sims born 24 February 1898 and died 17 February 1935.
