Funeral services for Frederick Bonnette, 83, of 3727 Neeses Highway, Orangeburg, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 10, 2004, at Pine Hill United Methodist Church with the Rev. Robbie Hall and the Rev. Kermit Shrawder officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jake Bonnette, Donald Bonnette, Tripp Wingard, Josh Wingard, Dewey Davis and Dr. Robert Smoak. Mr. Bonnette died Sunday, June 6, at the Methodist Oaks. He was born in the Pine Hill community of Orangeburg County, a son of the late Joseph A. and Susannah Hayden Bonnette. He was a graduate of Neeses High School and was a retired dairy farmer. He was a member of Pine Hill United Methodist Church where he served in many offices including superintendent of Sunday school for many years. Mr. Bonnette served in the US Coast Guard in WW II. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Dorothy Corbin Bonnette of the home; three daughters, Mrs. Steve (Valeria) Silver of Fernandina Beach, Fla., Mrs. Leonard (Sheryl) Hill of Bluffton, and Mrs. Neil (Claire) Kammerer of Loganville, Ga.; a brother, Wilson Bonnette of Moncks Corner; six grandchildren, Stephanie and Paul Silver of Fernandina Beach, Fla., Aaron and Alex Hill of Bluffton, and Matthew and Chandler Kammerer of Loganville, Ga. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, at Dukes-Harley Funeral Home. At other times, friends may call at the residence and at the funeral home.
