Betty J. Bonham, 87, of Robinson, IL, died at 9:58 a.m. on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at her residence.

She was born May 9, 1929 in Honey Creek Township, rural Crawford County, IL, the daughter of Carson Brush & Ina (Harris) Brush, both of whom preceded her in death.

She married George H. Bonham on August 24, 1946 and he preceded her in death on July 25, 1997.

She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Wilma Brush and Alice Liston; and by her brothers, Don Brush, Robert “Bob” Brush, and Charlie Brush.

She is survived by her son, George H. Bonham, Jr (Palestine, IL); two daughters & sons-in-law, Phyllis & David Miller (Flat Rock, IL) and Linda & Douglas Weger (Robinson, IL); by her grandchildren, John Miller (Charleston, IL), Angela Mendenhall (Champaign, IL), Nolan Mendenhall, Jr. (Avon, IN), Janet Perkins (Mooresville, IN), Beau Bonham (CA), Brent Bonham (MI), and Reneé Hall (Avon, IN); by seven great-grandchildren, Dalton Miller and Drake Miller (Charleston, IL), Bryanna & Morrie “Moe” Mendenhall (Champaign, IL), Tanner Douglas (Marshall, IL), Isabella Bonham (CA), and Hunter Hall (Avon, IN); as well as several nieces and nephews.

Betty was saved 38 years ago in 1978 at the Free Methodist Church and attended Day Spring Church since 1986. She cleaned houses and was a loving and caring homemaker who lived to care for her beloved children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. They will long remember her delicious fried chicken and oatmeal & chocolate chip cookies.

A time of visitation will be held from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 17th at the Goodwine Funeral Home in Robinson. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, September 18th at the funeral home with Pastors Richard Houser & Larry McCormick officiating the service. Burial will follow in the Tohill Cemetery, rural Flat Rock, IL.

Memorials may be made to the Dayspring Church, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
