Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Rentz Boney, age 89, of Gilbertown, AL, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 3, 2015, at Gilbertown United Methodist Church in Gilbertown, AL, with Reverend Chip Oakley officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 2, 2015 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Phillips Funeral Home in Gilbertown. Interment will be in the Gilbertown Cemetery.
Mrs. Boney passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2015, at Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian, MS. She was very active in service to her community and her church. She was a charter member of the Gilbertown Women’s Club and served as a member of the Choctaw County Library Board. She was a lifetime member of Gilbertown United Methodist Church where she served as treasurer for over forty years and also as church pianist.
She was preceded in death by her parents Gerald Adair Rentz and Marguerite Millicent McGowan Rentz, and three brothers, William E. Rentz, Gerald Francis Rentz, and Gordon E. Rentz.
