CUT OF IN PRIME - Oscar BonDurant Passed Out of Life Wednesday Morning. - Oscar H. BonDurant, whose illness was mentioned last week but who was not then recognized as being in a critical condition, died at 10 oclock [sic] Wednesday morning at the family home on the Link place, southeast of town, which he recently purchased. The funeral will be tomorrow (Friday) at 2:30 p.m. in Salem Evangelical church, which he had long attended. Internment will be in the Bremen cemetery. The cause of death was pericarditis -- inflammation and the formation of fluid in the membrane surrounding the heart.
Oscar Hercles [sic] BonDurant was born near Lake of the Woods May 23, 1883, and lived all his life in this community. He was married Dec 5, 1906, to Miss Helena Bergen [sic], daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Berger of Bremen. One son was born to them, Keith J., aged four years. Surviving are the widow and son, father and stepmother, John Bondurant and wife, three sisters -- Mrs. William Heyde of this community, Mr. Ernest Traver of South Bend and Mrs. Clem Ewald of Kansas. Four brothers -- Delbert; Ollie, Earl and Raymond. On half-sister and one half-brother, Alma and Ralph Bondurant. The mother of the deceased died some twenty years ago.
Mr. BonDurant was an industrious progressive man and was held in high esteem by those who knew him well.
