Mary Agnes Bond Blalock, age 96, of Covington, died January 26, 2021. Born in Lithonia, Georgia to David Burton Bond and Annie Laura Bond, she grew up in Lithonia and graduated from Lithonia High School. Agnes was an active member of Rockland United Methodist Church where she had perfect attendance for 40 years, taught Sunday School for 60 years, played the piano for the church for 55 years and the last time she played was December 29, 2020. Agnes retired from Metropolitan Life Insurance Company after many years of faithful service. She was a very kind person who enjoyed music, attending many Gospel Singing Venues; going out to eat with friends and traveling. Agnes was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, James Ewell Blalock, Jr., her parents and sister, Lillian Bond Clark. Surviving are her nephew, James E. Watts of Seminole, Florida and many friends. A graveside service will be held 2:30 o’clock, Tuesday, February 2, at Lithonia City Cemetery, with Rev. Mike Wadley officiating. The visitation will be from 1:15 – 2:15 pm prior to the service at Henry Funeral Home.
