She was born September 14, 1948, in Wood County a daughter of the late Thayer and Lena Sams Weekley.
Joyce was a graduate of Warren High School and attended church services at Market Manor, Parkersburg where she resided.
She enjoyed crafts, classic TV, cooking with her best friend Cheryl McIntyre and spending time with her boyfriend Chuck Gregory.
She is survived by one daughter Christina "Tina" Lynn Capicotto Gillispie (John) of Auburn, W.Va.; three grandchildren who she adored more than anything, Travis, Johnathon and Emma; three sisters Doris Ann Owens of North Carolina, Sandra Brentlinger of Lancaster,OH. and Emma Jane Sampson of Parkersburg and several nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Catherine Capicotto; four brothers Charles, Sammy Neal, Edward and Richard Weekley; four sisters Barbara Jean Weekley, Patricia King, Roberta Bonar and Betty Rood.
There will be no formal visitation or services per her wishes. A Celebration of Life gathering for family and friends will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at the Market Manor Community Room, 1030 Market St.,Parkersburg, W.Va. from 6:30p.m. to 8:30p.m.
Lambert-Tatman Funeral and Cremation Services, 2333 Pike St. Parkersburg is assisting the family with arrangements.
