Norton, VA -Frances Gaye Boles, 61, of Norton, VA, went to be with the Lord at her home Thursday (Aug. 18, 2011).
She was born in Norton, VA, daughter of Harlis and Francis Robinette Powers. She resided in Norton all of her life.
She is preceded in death by her father, Harlis Powers; brother, Terry Hampton Powers; grandfather, Rev. Wade Powers; and grandmother, Nellie Collier Powers; and great uncle, Rev. Ben Powers.
She is survived by her mother, Frances Robinette Powers; her husband of 43 years, Benny Boles of Norton; two sons, Eddie Boles of Wise, VA, Elmer Boles and his wife, Becky of Norton, VA; grandchildren, Skylar, Seth, and Kaitlyn Grace Boles; sister-in-law, Becky Powers; two nephews, Adam Powers, Josh Powers; one niece, Lenzee Powers Davidson and husband Kenny.

She and her husband Benny had operated Benny's Flowers for 35 years. She was especially talented in designing flowers for special occasions such as weddings, proms, and pageants. Many neighbors and friends will always remember that the flower shop was a local hangout and how that she was always kind to everyone. Through her battle with cancer, she always had a smile and the doctors were amazed at her positive outlook and faith in God. She will always be remembered by her meek and humble qualities and her continued praise of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the West Norton Freewill Baptist Church with the funeral service to follow with Rev. Elmer Boles, Rev. R. L. Crawford and Rev. Mike Davis officiating.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Sunday at the Powell Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Family and friends will meet at 11 a.m. at the church for the procession to the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Pat Flanary, Tracy Sturgill, Arthur Sturgill, Randall Gabbert, Morgan Gabbert, David Boles, Fred Boles and Seth Boles,
The family would like to thank all those who encouraged, comforted, and prayed for Gaye during her illness.
