Alberta Lowder Boggan of Albemarle, NC passed away Friday, September 05, 2014 at Trinity Place.

Her funeral will be 2 PM Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at Stony Hill United Methodist Church with the Rev. Lanny Lancaster officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12:30 until 2 PM in the church fellowship hall.

Born December 26, 1917, she was the daughter of the late William P. and Maude Forrest Lowder.

She was a graduate of Stanly County Schools and of Suebennett College in London, KY. She was a lifetime member of Stony Hill United Methodist Church who loved flowers. She wrote and published a book, “Our Children’s Heritage” and help start Stanly County’s first mobile library.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry L. Boggan.

Survivors include a daughter, Patricia B. Speight and husband Dean of Albemarle, NC, two sisters: Vernie L. Forrester of Midland, NC and Eileen L. Birmingham of Charlotte, NC. She also has two grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, five step great-grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren and three step great-great grandchildren.

A son, William Harry Boggan and two brothers, Wallace Hoyle Lowder and Robert Forrest Lowder preceded her in death.
