Daughter of Christopher & Lucinda Stowers Payne. Wife of Wesley F. Bogan.

Obit: Bertha Bogan wife of Wesley F. Bogan of Edna Mills, died at the family home yesterday morning at 6:10 o'clock after a year's illness.

Born in Boone County October 10, 1882, she was a daughter of Christopher and Lucinda Stowers Payne. In early youth she moved to Clinton County, and in 1899 was married to Mr. Bogan, who survives. She was a member of the Antioch Christian Church. The family had lived in the present home only a month, moving there from north of Beard.

Surviving besides the husband are five sons, Elmer of Lafayette, Fred and Loyal of Carmel and Christopher and Wesley of Gary; four daughters, Cozie Morris and Florence louks of Gary, Fern Merrill of Michigantown and Evelyn Heaton of Geneva, Ohio; four sisters, Cora McDonald, Nora Pittenger, Betty Priest and Maud Bishop; three brothers, Carl, Paul and William Payne. Two children died in infancy. There are 35 grandchildren, and 33 great-grandchildren surviving.
