BOETTCHER--Marie Boettcher dies this morning, funeral Friday
Mrs. Edward J. (Marie Helene) Boettcher, 60, of 1462 1/2 28th avenue, died this morning at Lutheran hospital. She had been ill the past year.
There will be a prayer service at 10 a.m. Friday at McKown Funeral Home, followed at 10:30 a.m by funeral services at Immanuel Lutheran church. The Rev. B.F. Meschke will officiate, and burial will be in Columbus cemetery. The body is to lie in state after 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
The daughter of Heinrich and Katherine Walter Sjoberg, she was born March 13, 1905, in Buer, West Germany, and attended high school and business college. She came to the United States in 1922, and resided briefly in Iowa and Lincoln before coming to Columbus.
She was married to Arthur D. Barnes March 11, 1923. He died Feb. 25, 1946. They had one son, Carl (Charley) Barnes.
On Oct. 25, 1950, she was married to Edward J. Boettcher. He survives, in addition to one grandson, William E. Barnes of Northridge, Cal.; brother, Carl, of St. Louis, Mo.; three sisters in Germany; Mrs. Flora Sjoberg, Spokane, Wash, a sister-in-law.
Mrs. Boettcher was preceded in death by her first husband; son, Carl, who died Nov. 26, 1962; parents; one brother.
She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith, and was a member of Immanuel Lutheran church.
