Resident of City since 1907 Dies Following Illness of Three Days Mrs. Josephine Beard Hassler Boetje, 47 years old, wife of Frederick Herman Boetje, head of the Boetje Mustard company, died at 5 o'clock this morning in the family residence, 1609 Twelfth street, Rock Island, following a three day illness.
Josephine was born in Bloomington, Ill., daughter of the late Charles Cunningham and Elizabeth Beard Hassler.
She was educated in the Bloomington schools and on June 16, 1907 married Fred H. Boetje of Rock Island. The couple had resided at Rock Island since that time.
Mrs. Boetje was a member of the Lady Eagles of Eudorah Rebekah lodge of Odd Fellows and of Dewey Camp, Royal Neighbors of America.
Surviving are the widower, three sons, Charles Frederick, Bernard William, and James Leslie Boetje, all of Rock Island; a daughter, Miss Lila Hassler Boetje, of Rock Island; a sister, Miss Clara Hassler of Bloomington, and three brothers, Charles Wesley and John Calvin Hassler, both of Bloomington, and Warren Boyd Hassler of Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
She was preceded in Death by her parents.
Burial is in Rock Island Memorial Park Cemetery, Rock Island, ILlinois
