George C. Bobb, 83, of Carlisle, passed away on Friday, March 11, 2016, at his son's home.

He was born on May 18, 1932, in Mt. Holly Springs, a son of the late Charles Bobb and Flora (Emig) Bobb Weidow.

George was married to the late Alverta J. (Copenhaver) Bobb, who died March 8, 2014.

George was a US Army veteran of the Korean War. He worked for the former Rufe Chevrolet car dealership in Carlisle from 1953 - 1981, where he was the Service Manager, and then retired from North Middleton Twp., where he was the Roadmaster.

George was a member of Carlisle First Church of the Brethren, Carlisle Special Fire Police Assoc., Cumberland Star Masonic Lodge 197, and the American Legion.

He is survived by one son, George C. (Melissa) Bobb, Jr. of Carlisle, two daughters; Susan H. (Randy) Bobb -Kincade of Carlisle and Kathy M. (Donald) Ryan of Boiling Springs, one sister, Doris Hockley of Carlisle, six grandchildren; George Bobb, III, Laci Wimer, Anthony, Elizabeth, and Victoria Gehman and Jessica Ryan, three great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and his special friend, Janet Barrick. George was predeceased by three brothers; Glenn, Harry, and J. Raymond Bobb and two sisters; Marie Smith and Louise Harpootlian.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. in the Carlisle First Church of The Brethren, 1340 Forge Rd., Carlisle, with Pastors Jim and Marla Abe officiating.

Burial with military honors by Cumberland County Honor Guard will be in Mt. Holly Springs Cemetery.

Viewings will be held at the church on Tuesday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle, is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to his church or to Carlisle Special Fire Police Association, P.O. Box 103, Carlisle, PA 17013.
