John “Pee Wee” L. Bobak, age 79, of Rossford, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, May 13, 2001, in St. Charles Mercy Hospital. He was born on December 24, 1921, in Rossford, to Leo and Anna (Kushner) Bobak. John was a WW II army air corps veteran and served as a tailgunner on the B26 bomber squadron. He served in Rhineland, Central Europe, and Ardenes. John retired from Libbey-Owens-Ford in 1984, after 30 years in the maintenance department. He also painted and wallpapered. Prior to World War II, John had worked for the U.S. Postal Service. He was a member of St. Michael’s Ukrainian Catholic Church and the Rossford American Legion. Surviving is his loving wife of 51 years, Angela (Bohaczenko) Bobak; son, Jeff (Carol) Bobak of Rossford; daughters, Rosemary (Don) Artz of Walbridge, Chris (Lou) Durkac of Tuscon, AZ, and Lori (Nick) Stroud of Lubbock, TX; and 11 grandchildren. John was preceded in death by his brothers, Pete, Joe, and Nicholas Bobak. Visitation, Parastas Service and Funeral Services were held at Sujkowski Funeral Home of Rossford. A Mass of Christian Burial was held in St. Michael’s Ukrainian Catholic Church in Rossford. Interment in Fort Meigs Cemetery.
