91, of Avon, died Mar. 10, 2017. Doris was born June 2, 1925 in Rosedale, IN to Samuel and Maude (Lambert) Boatman.

She was a 1943 graduate of Rosedale High School. Doris married Ronald W. Archer Aug. 1, 1943, he preceded her in death Sept. 5, 2011 after 68 years of marriage. She had been a supervisor at Continental Life Insurance in Indianapolis for 20 years, retiring in 1984. A former member of the Fleming Garden Christian Church, she was currently a member of the Clayton Christian Church. Doris found joy in caring for and loving her family and sharing her faith in God with others. She had been a member of the Tuesday Euchre Club since 1976.

Services will be held at 11 a.m., Wed. Mar. 15 in Clayton Christian Church, with visitation there from 4-8 p.m. Tues. Mar. 14. Entombment will take place in Floral Park Cemetery in Indianapolis.

Survivors include her children, JoAnne (Mike) Kiefer, Marsha Dueker, all of Indianapolis, Jim (Beth) Archer of Danville; 11 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. She is also preceded in death by a great-grandson, Trevor Tober.
