Elaine Joy Boatman 1956 – 2016 Elaine "EJ" Boatman passed away Friday September 9, 2016 in Houston, TX. She was born on October 6, 1956 in Houston, TX. She is preceded in death by her parents Jesse Lee & Elenor Boatman and nephew Damon Boatman. She is survived by her siblings Gwen Thomasson, Charles Lee (Beverly) Boatman, Viriginia "Jeannie" Hattenbach and loving companion Kenneth Polnick. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and her beloved dog Leigh. Elaine was "one of a kind" always full of life despite her battle with MS for over 20 years. She was always ready to go shopping or go out to eat. Over the years she had many adventures, had many different jobs, one of her favorites was being a bartender at Hobby Airport. She loved the water and would often go to the lake with her family. She also loved to travel to different places with her family. Elaine enjoyed going out and having a great time with her nieces and nephews, who she loved as if they were her own children. Elaine's "kids" though were her animals, her love for animals started at a very young age and over the years she has had many beloved pets, Cocoa, Sunshine, Bobbie and Blackie to name a few. Family and friends are invited to visitation Monday, September 12, 2016 from 5-8pm at Brookside Funeral Home. Burial service is Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at 1:00pm at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, 4922 FM 2864, Nacogdoches, TX. 55965. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the MS Society or SPCA.
