Wilda Jean Boas, 92, of Columbus, passed from this life at 4 a.m. Monday, March 20, 2017, at her home. Mrs. Boas was born February 10, 1925, in Brown county, the oldest daughter of Charles O. and Lelia Ault McKinney. A homemaker, Mrs. Boas was a certified nursing assistant and an ordained minister. She did missionary work in Jamaica and in the sugar cane fields in Florida. She attended Bethel Holiness Church and Walker Chapel. Survivors include her children, Della(Bill)Dolan of Hobe Sound, Florida, Randy(Kay)Boas of Columbus, Greg(Lori) Boas of Columbus, Mark Boas of Columbus, Susan(Brian)Johnson of Intercession City, Florida and Tracey(Tina)Boas of Stuart, Florida; grandchildren, Kelly, Kendall, Kristina, Brandon, Kelsie, Leah, Aaron, Andrew, Adrienne, Tara, Taylor, Niki, Jackie, Ethan, Adam and Moriah; 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews and other relatives. Mrs. Boas was preceded in death by her husband, Joe E. Boas; a grandson, Jacob Boas; brothers, Francis, Carl and Russell Mckinney and Ralph Lawles; and sisters, Alberta Hendrickson, Martha Baker and Elizabeth Perry. The funeral will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Barkes, Weaver and Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with Pastor Carson Scarbrough and the Revs. Nathan Schockley and Roy Hendershot officiating. Family and friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 9:30 a.m. until service time Saturday. Burial will be at Daugherty Cemetery.
